Easy Calculator For Rebar And Mesh Weights

Accurate calculations are at the heart of every successful construction project. Get your calculations right and you head towards a safe, compliant project that is delivered on time and on budget. Get those calculations wrong, however, and you could find that your project soon becomes a millstone around your neck, with budget overspends caused by having to repour concrete to rectify problems and long delays due to under-ordering of reinforcement materials and concrete.

To make life easier for construction professionals, we’ve produced an easy-to-use rebar and mesh reinforcement calculator, covering all of the most commonly used types of loose rebar and mesh panels in the UK market. With this handy online calculator, you can say goodbye to guesstimates and complex pen and paper calculations and get fast, accurate figures in just a few clicks.

Using our rebar and mesh weight calculator

We’ve designed our rebar and mesh calculator to be extremely easy to use. The calculator is divided into two dropdown panels - one for loose rebar and one for mesh reinforcement products. You can use the calculator to work out weights for either loose rebar or mesh, or both, and as well as seeing the total weight for each type of rebar or mesh product, the calculator will also add up the weights of the different types of rebar and mesh that you select.

Start your calculation by opening either the loose rebar tab or the mesh reinforcement tab, and complete the fields with the details of the first line item you want to add to your calculations.

For loose rebar, you’ll need to select rebar diameter, length (in mm), the quantity of pieces you require, and the shape code for that particular rebar strut. If you don’t know the correct shape code, we have a handy pop-up guide to all the available codes, to help you make the right choice. Once you’ve selected the appropriate fields, as soon as you add a value in the quantity field, the total weight for that line item will be calculated and displayed.

For mesh reinforcement, the process is just as easy. First, select the mesh panel size - either standard mesh (which is 2.4m x 4.9m) or merchant mesh (which is 3.6m x 2.0m) and then select the mesh type and the quantity of panels you require. The total weight for that line item will update dynamically as soon as you enter a value in the quantity field. Just like with loose rebar, if you need several different panel types, simply use the + button below the line you’ve been working on to add a new line item.

At the bottom of the two panels for loose rebar and mesh products, you’ll see a line that displays the total combined weight for both loose rebar and mesh sheets. The calculator offers complete flexibility, because it displays weights for each line item, the combined totals for loose rebar, the combined totals for mesh items,  and the grand total of all products together.

You can also download your calculations as a PDF, print your results or complete some brief contact details at the bottom of the calculator, in order to receive a tailored quote from us for the items within your calculation.

And of course, if you have any questions at all about the rebar or mesh products needed for your project, we are always happy to offer advice and guidance - just give us a call to speak with one of our experienced team.
